Connecting the dots
Radhika talks about the story...
“Just like every entrepreneur, I have gone through a lot of experiences in my journey and every bit of it has made me fall in love with the idea of business even more strongly. I blend it all together when I develop strategies and that’s my forte.
I hold respect for education. Not the rot-learning way, but I feel that it opens your mind to different worlds. I am a transdisciplinary and went to a design school and a business school. The fusion of the world of design and marketing blew my mind away. This is largely how the foundation of Laughing Popcorn was laid.
I started Laughing Popcorn as a freelancer, which was a long journey. Then my mind started wondering about the next thing to do. I spend almost one year getting my mindset into the business mode. Thinking about it, planning it, shaping it, setting my goals and hence began Laughing Popcorn as we have it today!”
About the fancy name!
“We receive a lot of love for our company’s name. When I started my Freelance journey, it took me a month to go over names. I was clear even then that I want a unique, happy, quirky name that has a positive vibe. Finally the aha moment happened when I came up with the word Popcorn! My curly hair had always been a strong element of my identity because of this my friends gave me names like Maggi, Noodles etc! From there, the word popcorn happened in my head. And then to capture the happy vibe, I added the word Laughing!”
What was brewing before Laughing Popcorn
Bachelors in Communication Design, Symbiosis Institute of Design, Pune
I was an introvert, until I moved away from the comfort of my home for my graduation. The whole experience taught me a lot about life as a whole. Some of the most amazing memories were born here.
It was a dream come true. I finished my graduation and got a job here!
I worked on some of the biggest movies and fell in love with almost every thing that was a part of this world.
Four years passed. I decided it’s time to pack my experiences and set to greater heights.
Master of Business Administration, Marketing, NMIMS, Mumbai
I took this up, just to have some fun and expand my knowledge. Little did I realise that this would totally change my world. I excelled 9 consecutive times at this course, which had some great minds from the industry.
I realised there is something different in what I am doing and in my outlook! My mind had beautifully started blending the world of design and business, perhaps the world of logic and magic!
What has Laughing Popcorn been upto lately?
